Project Discovery
The Project Discovery Career Development System is a hands-on comprehensive curriculum which provides students with special needs and those at-risk with the skills necessary for entrance into the workforce with "marketable skills." With our Career Development, Skills Training, and Lifelong Learning modules, every student will be able to explore their own strengths, preferences, & interests! The program has been approved by the U.S. Department of Education and is validated by the National Dropout Prevention Network as a "Model Program." Project Discovery is also correlated to National Common Core & State Standards Assessments in accordance with IDEA requirements for career education experiences & skills training related to life skills and for getting & keeping a job.
lawn care worker
In this basic kit, students experience the job tasks of a lawn care worker in this hands-on 90 hour curriculum. Skills will be gained in various lawn care tasks and using lawn care and landscapte equipment and tools. In addition, students will learn how to repair a small engine.

Retail/stock assistant
In this basic kit, the 90 hour curriculum teaches students many of the skills necessary for success as a retail/stock assistant. Students learn the activities involved in the everyday operations of a retail business. These activities provide a good introduction to these duties for students who would like a part-time job working in a retail store or for those who would like to make entrepreneurship a career. These activities explore such activities as ordering merchandise, displaying merchandise, learning about customer service, completing credit card sales slips, dealing with cash transactions and completing inventory forms.
caregiver
In this basic kit, the 90 hour curriculum teaches students many of the skills needed by those who care for the elderly. Students will gain skills in communicating and interacting with senior citizens. Students will also explore health issues of the elderly including taking vital signs, managing and administering medications, monitoring and protecting the patient's physical well-being and safety, helping with physical appearance and daily hygiene practices. Students will gain experience in planning activities for the elderly and in gaining an understanding of the special problems aging brings. Through hands-on activities students will simulate some of the physical impairments of aging.
Child care assistant Ii
In this enhanced kit, the Level II Child Care curriculum provides instruction for those working with children ages one to five years. This curriculum teaches students how to safely care for and nurture young children in a daycare setting. Students will learn skills to help children grow emotionally, mentally and physically.
medical records
In this advanced kit, students will explore some of the areas associated with medical record keeping in the health occupations. All of the activities are important to the health cluster in general as all workers have a part in the keeping of patient records in some form or another.
retail trades
In this enhanced kit, students will gain skills in the many areas necessary for success in retail trades including advertising, marketing, customer service, product pricing, merchandising, using equipment of the trade and leadership skills.
