Independent living skills (ILS) are the tasks students need to manage their daily life, such as housework, hygiene, and time management. These skills are broken down into three specific areas in the education field: recreation and leisure, community participation and home living. Each of these areas are addressed on an individualized basis for each student within the transition program. Some of the skills addressed can include:
